Week 1: Frosh week

First day of university. Overwhelming? yes and no. I was late in meeting up with my "MUG" group cause I got lost. Truthfully I was a little arrogant about knowing my way around campus, but obviously I was not. First impression of my faculty was I noticed a lot of girls. I was kind of hoping that there would be less girls so that it would be easier to bond with them since the whole idea of stick together? However the boys still complained the fact that the ratio isn't 1:1 I think they were hoping for a miracle like the Art faculty who had a 85% female student population. The Engineering faculty's representation was certainly up to it's par during the pep rally with crazy people in red. Though Sauder looked more organized and knew their plan was during the pep rally; I think it was the only faculty heard across the stadium. To be honest, the pep rally was fun for the first 15 minutes. We got tired of waiting. We wanted action, something other than the cheer squad trying to do it's best to keep our energy level up. Nevertheless, it was exciting to see in a open place just how many students were entering their first year. Just like me. Well I don't know if the 77 year old enrolled this year showed up to the imagine day but I'm pretty sure the 14 year old was probably more scared/excited than anyone else in the stadium. * Just as a side note. I think the 77 year old student is actually my orthodontist who told me he enrolled to UBC to take some art history courses. hmmmm he is pretty old and has grandkids. But I don't want to call him up and ask how old he is, its rude. But does it really matter once you reached 70?
